Inspired by the classic Snake game, Curba comes with a twist: you are the snake and you have to run. Pick up the points as fast as you can. Don't cross your tail and don't touch the border.
Curba means "curve" in Romanian. Curba it's an augmented first-person game without a manual, physically engaging, visually appealing, and with cool original music.
Created to be adapted as an app as well as a playground, Curba can be a solitary entertainment, but it finds its heart and purpose in the community gathering, functioning like the dance floor of a street dance battle, with kids and adults playing one after another, in a celebration of the simple joys of life.
Visually inspired by naïve pixel drawing with RGB colours, the game finds its sophistication in the harmonious adjustment of simplicity and precision, artistic playfulness and referenced subjectivity.
Going from a sweet slide to the memory lane to an amusing gym, the Curba installation is mainly focused on the physical engagement of the participants, therefore an appropriate environment is recommended, especially concerning the quality of the air and the texture of the floor.
Play it together, play it with friends, neighbours or passers-by, wait your turn, enjoy the score of others, run fast, laugh, and make a high score.
In the video demonstration, the area that is converting into the game zone measures 3x4m, surrounded by 1m extra for safety reasons. The height of the projector is 4m or more. You need: scaffolding or ceiling mount, a sensor depth camera, a mini PC, two laser projectors, and a sound system. And thats about the hardware — the rest is endless fun.
